Welcome to the Island Deaf & Hard of Hearing Centre website!

IDHHC is the only specialized social service agency on Vancouver Island, British Columbia providing counselling and support services to people dealing with a hearing loss. We work with:

• Deaf individuals who use sign language
• Families with Deaf or Hard of Hearing members
• Late Deafened individuals who have lost their hearing
  late in life
• Hard of Hearing individuals
• Hearing individuals/groups who require information or training regarding hearing loss and deafness.

The agency provides a range of programs and services:

• Family and Community Program
• Employment Assistance Program
• Interpreting Services
• Hearing Loss Resource Program
• Resource Development Program

Staff are available to provide a range of deaf awareness seminars/workshops for schools, employers, service providers and the public.
